Bungle Bungles Camping and Accommodation

Public Campgrounds in the national park

There are two campgrounds run by the DEC (Department of Environment and Conservation).

• the Kurrajong camping area is at the northern end, close to Echidna Chasm and Mini-Palms
• the Walardi camping area is at the southern end, close to the beehive domes, Cathederal Gorge and Picaninny Creek. It is also close to the helicopter base for scenic flights.

Both campsites have basic facilities, with bush toilets and bore water taps. There are no showers. Camping fees are $11 per adult per night, and you’ll need to pay this at the Visitor Center.

Private Campgrounds

Upmarket tour operators APT and East Kimberley Tours have a privately run facilities at Bellburn Creek, close to the Walardi Camping area and the Heliworks helicopter base.

Luxury safari tents, hot showers, dining facilities and a bar are available. You don’t need to join a tour to stay at these private campgrounds, but you will need to book ahead.

The Bungle Bungles caravan park on Mabel Downs Station (just off the Great Northern Highway) also has a range of accommodation, from camping to upmarket safari tent options. Dogs are also allowed at this caravan park.
