We’ve put together a suggested trip itinerary to help you plan a self-drive tour of the Kimberley. This itinerary has been designed for those who would like to see as much of the Kimberley during a two-three week visit, which is a common amount of time for many people on holidays.
This Kimberley itinerary should only be used as a a rough guide – you may have more or less time for your trip, spend longer in some paces and skip others altogether. Everyone has different amounts of time and for those lucky enough to have a month or more, you will be able to see everything at quite a leisurely pace.
We’ve allowed a moderate amount of time for this journey. The distances are long and while you can rush through the main sites and attractions in a shorter time frame, it’s really not the point of a Kimberley adventure.
You should also add a couple of extra days to the suggested itinerary below – this will allow you to relax and spend some extra time at places you enjoy, and ensure you don’t get too burnt out by the constant travel!
Make sure to always check the latest road conditions before heading off on any trip in the Kimberley.
The Dampier Peninsular and Cape Leveque can be added to Broome section of a Kimberley trip. Due to the long distances involved in reaching Cape Leveque, you should allow at least 3 nights to explore this region at an enjoyable pace!
